Introduction to CF Global

We have developed a reputation for being a smart, reliable and hard working team who consistently increase standards and expectations at our clients events year on year.

Health & Safety

 

Health and Safety procedures can vary from event to event,
Every site is different and every kitchen is different, all relevant site specific H&S information, such as fire evacuation procedure and local hospital location information will be made available upon arrival to each event, however, the fundamental H&S procedures listed below should always be adhered to:

 

Hygiene:
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and hot water before starting work, after using the bathroom, and after handling waste.
Use antibacterial hand wash when necessary.
Avoid touching your face or mouth while working.
Keep all work surfaces clean and sanitized.

 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Black safety boots should be worn at all times when working for CF Global.
Use gloves and eye protection goggles when handling chemicals.
Wear CF high-visibility vest at all times.
Hard hats may be required on certain sites during the setup/build phase of an event.

 

Manual Handling:
Lift objects safely by bending your knees and keeping your back straight.
Ensure to lift only as much as you are comfortable with, do not feel pressured to match what somebody else may be lifting.
Ask for help when lifting heavy or awkward items.

Chemicals:
Handle chemicals with care and follow the instructions on the label.
Wear gloves and eye protection when using chemicals.
Store chemicals safely and securely.

 

COSHH stands for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health. It’s a set of regulations that protect people from harm caused by hazardous substances in the workplace.

 

Your Responsibilities: (COSHH)
– Follow all safety instructions and procedures
– Use control measures provided, like PPE
– Report any concerns or incidents to your supervisor
– Attend all required training sessions

 

Key Points to Remember: (COSHH)
– Always read labels and safety data sheets before using any substance
– Use appropriate PPE as instructed – (Gloves & Goggles)
– Never mix chemicals
– Keep work areas clean and tidy
– Wash hands thoroughly after handling hazardous substances

 

If You’re Unsure, Ask! (COSHH)
Don’t hesitate to ask your CF supervisor or manager if you have any questions or concerns about COSHH or hazardous substances in your workplace.

Equipment:
Typically, one of the most important types of equipment that we use is the commercial dishwasher, you will be briefed on it’s operating procedures on your first day on site, however, here are some fundamentals:
– Ensure dishwasher is in operation mode (typically a switch on dishwasher control panel).
– Before loading, ensure plates are scraped of excess food.
– Load the dishes onto the spiked plate racks or conveyor belt and ensure proper spacing.
– Ensure the appropriate detergent is attached to the dishwasher dosing unit. – The machine will automatically pull the dishes through the wash and rinse cycles.
– Once the dishes reach the end of the conveyor, ensure that the plates are clean and dry before packing away in the correct storage container.
– Report any faulty equipment to your supervisor.
– Use all kitchen equipment safely and follow instructions.

Slips, Trips, and Falls:
Keep floors clean and dry.
Use “cleaning in progress” signs when mopping floors.
Clean up spills immediately.
Wear non-slip shoes.

 

Fire Safety:
Familiarise yourself with the location of fire exits and extinguishers at each event.
Follow site specific emergency procedures.

 

Emergency Procedures:
Every site is different, therefore emergency procedures can vary from event to event, this information is typically made available on the H&S notification boards within each kitchen. It is important to familiarise yourself with this information upon arrival to each new event.
Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor.

Personal Presentation

 

CF Global are recognised throughout the industry for our smart uniformity, with our emblazoned purple vests having become an assured mark of staffing quality.
We would ask staff to remember that you are representing our company at the highest level at some of the most prestigious events and venues across the UK, therefore it is important to be wearing the correct uniform at all times and to take extra consideration for personal appearance.

 

No personal jackets/coats are to be taken on site, headphones must not be
worn at any time. Any staff member still wearing any of these items while
on site will be asked to remove them. CF Global fleeces and jumpers are available on request.

Uniform

 

Upon departing for their first CF Global event, staff will be provided with a pack of black CF T-Shirts and a purple CF Safety Vest.

 

Black Safety Boots are required on all work, staff can either source their own or purchase a pair from our office.

 

Staff are required to source their own black working trousers, these would ideally be hardwearing such as cargo or trade trousers, please note that jeans/tracksuit/leisure trousers are not suitable.

Transport

 

CF Global provides all transport surrounding our work away.
When departing for an event, staff will meet at our Southport Office (3 Hill Street) or for those who do not live local to Southport an agreed pick up point which is on route, staff will then be transported in our vehicles to either site or accommodation.

 

Daily shuttle transport is also provided between accommodation and site.

 

Vehicles must be respected along with the driver and other passengers,
do not litter or smoke/vape on any of our vehicles.

 

Transport back to Southport will be provided post event, for those who do not live in Southport, strategic drop off points that are on route can be arranged but must be requested before departure via CF Management (office), do not attempt to negotiate a personal drop off point with any of our drivers.

 

If for any reason, a member of staff does not complete the pre-agreed working dates and needs to return home earlier than expected, CF Global will not be responsible for arranging their transport home.

Accommodation

 

Accommodation is sourced and provided to staff with a contribution charge of no more than £8.00 per night.

Accommodation is typically booked at Travelodge and staff may often be required to share a room with a maximum of 2 other staff members.

 

Accommodation must always be respected, we expect staff to also be respectful toward hotel staff and other guests.
The following will not be tolerated:
– Drug/Alcohol consumption
– Loud noise
– Abuse/Bullying
– Uncleanliness

 

Rooms must be kept clean and tidy, please be respectful to roommates and keep noise to a minimum, failure to comply may result in being charged full room price.

 

Staff will be notified in advance by CF management of a time to be outside the hotel in the morning for transport to work, please ensure that you comply and are outside on time each morning.

Pay

CF Global operates on a monthly pay basis, our allocated payment date is the 5th of every month.

Our system operates a month in hand, for example:

 

• All work completed in January is paid on March 5th
• All work completed in February is paid on April 5th

And so on..

 

Pay slips are produced electronically and can be accessed from the payslip
hub online. Make sure that you have provided your correct email address on your application form as this is where your set up instructions and subsequent pay slips will be sent.

Conduct

 

Staff should be aware that when working on-site for CF Global, their conduct
goes hand in hand with presentation. We expect staff to be respectful to their co-workers along with the other staff that we work alongside on events.

 

Summary Dismissal without notice will take place if an act of gross misconduct is committed.

Below are some examples of misconduct:
• Theft of any kind
• Abuse/Violence
• Refusal to carry out basic instruction
• Consumption of alcohol/drugs
• Gross negligence
• Disregard of H&S procedure
• Any flagrant act of unlawful discriminations
• Actions constituting as a criminal offence

 

Staff in breach of any of our procedures will be escorted off site immediately.

 

CF Global are not responsible for organising transport home for staff who are dismissed.
